Autumn Scene Collections

Late-autumn in the mountain (Sikchangsan)
Indeed a magnificent view ever!
Time flew by just like autumn wind. Autumn season just ended and winter season has began. Fresh autumn wind now is replaced by gusty and irresistible winter hurricane! My body became as stiff as a rock and my lips froze like a fallen foliage on the ground. Violent wind and substantial season transition makes me go insane and sleepy every day!

I miss autumn. I miss the moment i stood at the veranda of my room and sang my favorite song while looking on the people passing through the small road during those refreshing nights. I love to take photos wherever i go. I love to enjoy and to capture sunset scene the most.  For me, every photo is a  precious memory of every season that the beauty of itself won't fade away eternally.

Let's start!

Sunset in Mid-autumn (Campus)

Water fountains in Mid-autumn (Everland)

(Hungry Ghosts)

Flickr.

(Malaysia Cuisine)- Nasi Lemak

Flickr.

Flickr.

(Malaysia Cuisine)- Laksa

Flickr

Flickr

(Malaysia Shopping Paradise)

Flickr
我经常去的百货商店是 Sungei Wang, Sunway Pyramid 和 Berjaya Time Square。

Flickr.

Redang Island - The beach paradise in Malaysia

I'm proud of our country since we have numerous spectacular islands. Those islands are Penang Island, Langkawi Island, Tioman Island, Sipadan Island, Redang Island and so forth. There are a lot of thrilling activities you could enjoy and variety of uncountable delectable food are waiting for you. Today, i would like to talk about Redang Island. Actually my article was published in both Travel Wire Asia and Asiancorrespondent travel website. Below is my original article that i would like to share with everyone who loves Malaysia!

Redang Island by Zul Mokhtar, Flickr.

Redang Island is the largest of the nine islands that comprise the Marine Park in the Redang Archipelago. This archipelago also includes Lima Island, Paku Besar Island, Paku Kecil Island, Kerengga Besar Island, Kerengga Kecil Island, Ekor Tebu Island, Ling Island and Pinang Island. You can reach Redang Island by speedboat (30mins) from Merang Jetty.

Redang Island is renowned for its abundant diversity of marine organisms and spectacular beaches. If it’s your first time to visit Redang, you will be dazzled by the perfection of the island. The seawater is so clear you can see schools of fish swimming past. Redang Island not only serves as a perfect spot for snorkeling and scuba diving, but its impressive panoramas have also made it a choice spot for honeymooners.

Under the swaying coconut trees there are two spectacular beaches that are known locally as Pasir Panjang (Long Beach) and Deep Water Bay (Teluk Dalam Kecil). Most tourists stay in these two locations so there are plenty of resorts and restaurants here.

Pasir Panjang by Kung Bernard, Flickr.
You could easily spend your days basking in the warm sunshine on these beaches – don’t forget to apply sunblock! Or you could enjoy strolling along the fine sandy beach and looking at the multi-coloured fish swimming by. When it gets warm in the heat of the day enjoy a cup of fresh juice or even a fresh coconut drink to help you cool down.

Redang Island is also fringed with 100 species of fish, 50 species of coral and various kinds of turtles. Colorful reef fish such as parrotfish, angelfish, and other marine fish such as tuna, barracudas and spot jack fish can be seen during your snorkeling and scuba diving adventures. The best dive sites are Batu Che Esa, Terembu Putih, Black Coral Garden and Tanjung Tokong, while the most popular spots for snorkeling are Tanjung Tengah, Tanjung Mak Cantik and Pasir Chagar Hutang (Turtle Bay). A lot of the resorts and dive centres lend underwater cameras so you can capture memories beneath the water as well.

However you don’t always have to get in the water to see turtles. Visitors have reported seeing turtles come ashore to lay eggs, or have even seen baby turtles hatching and entering the sea for the first time. Redang Island is actually a conservation site for sea turtles.

If you love nature it’s possible to go jungle hiking on the island and come across other animals like monkeys. In the inner part of Redang Island there is a mountain called Bukit Besar (Big Mountain). From the peak, 359m, you can get a view of the whole island that will take your breath away; sparkling turquoise water fringes the island meeting the clear azure sky so it looks like there’s no horizon.

In the evening most people like to watch the sunset, particularly couples seeking romantic moments. There is plenty to do at night as well. Many resorts have camping sites with barbeque pits and chairs for tourists to grill their own food! If you don’t feel like doing barbeque, you can have your meal at your resort. After your meal there’s karaoke (8~11pm) at the open-air restaurant bars at Redang Reef and Redang Pelangi Resorts. Resident jazz bands or singers provide live music every Friday and Saturday night.

Another popular activity at night is to search for the “Blue Sand”. This tiny blue luminous sea creature or sea lice can be found along the beach if you have a flashlight. Shine your light around and you should see it shining in the dark.

The great thing about Redang is that there is accommodation for all budgets. The Taaras Beach Resort is the top ranked resort in Redang, followed by Laguna Redang Island Resort. There are other more affordable resorts such as Amannagappa Resort, Redang Kalong Resort and Redang Reef Resort. Some of the resorts also have spa treatments.

For more information about Redang or other islands in Malaysia, please visit Redang Island website or Malaysia Tourism Official website.

Autmn scenery in South Korea (Exclusive topic)

This is our campus's foliage~

It's mid-autumn now. My first blogging for this fall after a week of examination. Feeling ecstatic though i have a final mid-term test on Monday. Well, this cannot stop me from sharing these magnificent photos i took during exam week. Sharing is caring :) This is how our university looks like during the fall season. Simply amazing!

The road i use to walk :)
Today i want to share a topic with everyone about 'Season of loneliness'. Do you know that autumn season is also well-matched for a word 'loneliness'? Especially for man (women too)! Where many people start to feel solemn and wanting to find a partner? Well, do you feel solitary and your heart is yelling for empty too? You may wonder the reasons of why many people feel lonesome during fall. Let's unfold the mystery!

Wallpaper of 'The Heartstrings' Korean drama
In fall, the temperature drops abruptly and the cold wind brushes against your fragile skin after a scorching summer days ended. Your body doesn't get to use on this sudden temperature change. "I'm cold...sunshine please~!" This leads you to seek for something warm... (ex. a cup of coffee, someone to hug, blanket) Besides, several researches have been done and it was proven that hormone also plays a critical role in stimulating the feeling of loneliness.

Autumn sunshine~
As you know, we receive less sunshine in fall than in summer as daytime is getting shorter. Serotonin, is a hormone reducing your depression and annoyance. Depression usually comes before loneliness. We requires sunshine in order to stimulate the secretion of serotonin 'Happy hormone'. Our brain secretes less happy hormone than usual with the absence of sunshine. The worst, the person who is lack of serotonin hormone usually has the problem to fall asleep (sleep disturbance) and hardly control own emotions and mind. This phenomena will last until the winter ends. Many experts related depression as one of the factors that leads to loneliness.

Ways to conquer seasonal depression:
1) Take a walk outside when sunshine is available
2) Breath some fresh air to unwind ur body and mind
3) Exercise more to stay strong and warm
4) Interact/mix with more intimate friends
5) Hmm... start dating/ blind date? haha~

Don't ask me if i'm one of the lone wolves too? Don't ask me, ask yourself first. I would rather let you wonder xD. I hope you enjoy my post and more autumn photos will be uploaded on my next post . Please be healthy and warm always!
Stay tuned with next fall vista !

Learn korean culture- Korean Folk Village Tour

Last week, I went to Korean Folk Village <한국민속촌> in Seoul with Durban youth football players during the football tournament held by Daejeon Metropolitan City. It was my first time being to that place and I was totally amazed by the panorama of the Korean traditional village along the river and trees. You might surprise to hear that those Korean traditional houses built during the Joseon Dynasty were so delicately preserved until now.

In the Korean Folk village, you can enjoy the folk performance such as Korean traditional weddings and Acrobatics on a Tightrope usually take place in the afternoon. Go there earlier to grab a better seat so that nobody will disturb you when you are taking a nice photo shot or a video. Besides knowing the process of Korean traditional marriage, you can visit the Folk Museum or Art Museum to know more about Korean lifestyle and customs on what and how they live, eat, do, wear, and study. Don't forget to get Koreans with you so you can ask them to explain in more details.

Don't worry If you bring along your kids with you as there is a amusement park and some Korean folk play such as Tuho (arrow throwing), Neoldduigi (seesaw jumping), rope-jumping, and swing for your kids to enjoy themselves. If amusement park isn't enough for them, they will probably rock the game station. So I guess they won't get bored easily.

Due to the natural surroundings and well preserved Korean traditional houses, Korean Folk Village is also one of the famous filming sites for the Korean drama Daejanggeum (Jewel In The Palace) and a movie Scandal. I guess you will get excited when you visit Korean Folk Village if you enjoyed watching the dramas Daejanggeum.

Lastly, I would like to say that Korean Folk Village is a ideal spot for you to learn more about Korean lifestyle and their unique culture if you are interested to know. Before i forget, please remember to buy some Korean traditional souvenirs before you leave.

Busan, best place for your summer vacation ♥

The reason of Busan is being described as a dynamic city because you are able to experience various of fascinating, adventurous activities if you visit Busan.
Frankly, this's the first time I visit Busan even though I've been in Korea for two and a half year. Thanks to the Presidential Council on Nation Branding and Busan Metropolitan City for this marvelous and exciting 2 nights 3 days trip in Busan. I wanted to visit Busan so badly since my first arrival in Korea.

During this 3 days trip, we went to numerous areas in Busan, such as Haeundae beach, Busan Tower, Nurimaru APEC House, Busan Yachting Center, Shinsegae department store, Busan Cinema Center, BEXCO, Gwangan Bridge, Mt. Hwangnyeongsan , UN Memorial Cemetery, Nampodong, Jagalchi Market, BIFF square, Bosudong Bookstore Alley, Taejongdae, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple and etc.
I don't really remember all the places because we visited numerous tourist destinations. Among all those venues, there are various spots that gave me a indeed deep impression.

  # Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

This's a Buddha temple which makes my whole body and soul feel so calm and peace. The temple is surrounded by blue crystal clear ocean and is known for its legend that indicates one of wishes will be granted. Many visitors come to here to touch the belly special Buddha statues to get the boy/girl baby before having a child.

# Shinsegae Department Store

Busan Shinsegae Department Store is registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest shopping complex in the world which consists of 14 floors. Visitors can enjoy carefree shopping, meal and dessert, entertainments in Shinsegae. In order to offer the best recreation for visitors, entertainment facilities include a spa and an ice rink are found in the shopping mall. I sweated alot in the afternoon as we ate Samkyedang (Chicken Soup). It tastes nice as it looks! After that, we went skating in the ice rink. I was freaking scared and asking for help like an annoying kid since I really don't know how to hold my balance.  Anyway, one day might not enough for you to walk around in the mall.

# Busan Cinema Center
An official venue of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). It's well-known for its film festivals in Asia. The Big Roof as you can see on the photo is the largest roof in the world. The roof that covers the space is usually used for arts exhibitions. The cinema center comprises of three buildings named Cine Mountain, Biff Hill, and Double Cone. The main building, Cine Mountain, has three theaters for screening movies and one performing arts theater called ‘Haneulyeon,’ referred as the world’s best stage performances. You can watch a free movie on the huge screen at the Busan Cinema Center on every Tuesday night.

# BIFF Square

Located at Nampo-dong, also known as city of cinema since it is a venue of Busan International Film Festival. Besides watching movies in the cinemas, you can enjoy shopping, eating street foods/in the restaurants, other activities too. Furthermore, you will catch a glance of hand prints of noted international movie celebrities while strolling along the streets in Nampo-dong.

                                                        # Busan Yachting Center

Ideal activity for this summer break? Yachting for sure! This was my first time sitting in the yacht, sailing across the sea below Gwangan (Diamond) Bridge. The breeze was refreshing and the yacht was dancing on the ocean due to the strong wave. It was adventurous and exciting! We wolfed down all  the mouth-watering biscuits, fruits, and luxurious wine while having our leg spa. It would be hard for me to forget this fascinating experience!

# Haeundae Marine City

Pusan is a stunning city not only in daytime but also at night! I couldn't stop myself taking photos of Marine City when I saw those shinning skyscrapers in the darkness. I was stunned by the beauty of the tall concrete buildings and it was like a heaven. I can say this is the best scenery I've ever seen in Busan!

# Jagalchi Market
What you shouldn't miss if you visit Busan? Seafood and sashimi !!! In Jagalchi You should try their raw eels and other seafood at the restaurants in the Jagalchi Market if you want to enjoy a fresh seafood meal. Order whatever seafood you want, they serve the food very fast! The taste is Yummy :)
Oh no, I already missed the seafood. I'm hungry now.

During this 3days 2nights trip, I get to know alot about Busan. Although I didn't mention about Haeundae beach , Gwangan Bridge and many of the places i visited above, it doesn't mean that I don't like or satisfy with it. It's just because it gotta consume much time for me to list them out one by one. Oh ya, I forgot to mention something! Besides Haeundae beach, there are other majestic beaches such as Songjeong and Gijang you can visit especially in the summer as you can enjoy sorts of sport activities on the beach and get your skin tanned! Once again, I would like to thank Presidential Council on Nation Branding for giving me this precious chance to join this fun and unforgettable trip. I got to know our humorous yet professional Busan tour guide, Matthew  and other Busan Metropolitan members who guided and made our trip such fantastic and enjoyable. This was the best Busan trip ever and I would definitely visit Busan again with my other bosoms in the future.

Hello Kitty Cafe in South Korea

Let's welcome Hello Kitty Cafe in Daejeon downtown.
No longer go Seoul to find KITTY~!

"Hello Kitty" are trying their best to fulfill the desire of Hellow Kitty mania in Daejeon! And they managed to get it done! The cafe has been opened since Jun 1 2012 in Daejeon downtown (대전시내). I do luv the environment in the cafe. It's fulled with baby pink stuffs and Hello Kitty dolls! Here is some pictures !

Drinks
Latte Menu
No kidding! I'm a real kitty!
Honestly, I hesitated a lot when considering which latte i should order. All the patterns of Hello Kitty are indeed cute but it's not easy to make it if you're not skillful in doing this ^^
But it's never disappointed me! I usually order sweet potato latte whenever i go to the cafe. I fall in luv with sweet potato ! Oh~ you're my destiny !

Thinking on what to eat?
Perhaps you can try their mini cakes. But for me, i think it's slightly expensive than an usual cake. If price's not a matter for you, just go for it ! I wonder how is the feeling when a Hello Kitty is melting in your mouth. Feeling great !

More desserts and food !

Caramel Toast

As you can see, there are several types of foods you can choose. Ex: Toast, cakes, desserts and so on. I ordered caramel toast for my tea time with my friends and we really like it ! They have different flavors for each toast cream. You can order the flavors you like the most and share it with your friends.

Environments

Don't worry if you would like to have a party there. They have a special space for celebrating birthday, anniversary and more. The environment is a bit unique from the typical table outside the special area. Especially the light intensity, color and the decorations. I missed the chance to grab the seat T_T

More Pictures
The special seat i mentioned above
Small gallery? Cute ^-^
We provide Wi-fi and we hate smokers :X
We are healthy Kitty. Meow ~~
It's pretty fun to hang around with friends and find a comfortable place that provides nice surroundings for your gang to chit-chat. I would like to recommend Hello Kitty Cafe or maybe Dog Cafe in Myeong-dong 명동 if you are doggie lover ;)
Feel free to drop some comments here~
Have a good day!
